Let’s Celebrate Mothers -Gala Variety Matinee

This is a Gala Variety Matinee for the whole family to celebrate Mothers and fundraise for the Thank U Library in South Africa and Breast Cancer Care in UK.

Highlights of the Gala Variety Matinee

Doors open at 3.30pm and the show begins at 4.00pm with Baroness Howells, Chair of ‘Thank U, welcoming the guests, followed by Reverend Rose Hudson-Wilkin, the Speakers Chaplain in the House of Commons, who will lead the Opening Prayer. Then a variety of performances will follow, including; poetry, live Art, African/Contemporary dance fusion and a range of musical presentations from solo artists, to contemporary music.

We will be featuring the 2016 Poetry Trials (Teenage Dreams Competition) winner, Rut Mulugeta, who will recite her winning poem on mothers. The highlight of the Matinee is a very surprise Guest band as well as an exceptional performance by the Award winning, South African Literary icon, and singer/songwriter, Gcina Mhlope, who will be streamed into the show. Her Foundation will be running the Thank U Library in Kwazulu Natal in South Africa.

The performances thank, honour and speak to the different attributes that make mothers so phenomenal.

We cannot celebrate our ‘mothers’ without factoring health issues into the mix, so there will be a short talk about Breast Cancer Awareness by our partner Charity, Breast Cancer Care, to help safeguard our mothers’ health.

Eventbrite has secure a special deal to extend the from 16th Feb 2016 to 24th February 2016.

Support TWO Great Causes!

All proceeds of the ‘Lets Celebrate Mothers – The Phenomenal Women’, Gala go to setting up the first Thank U Library in the ‘Valley of a 1000 Hills’, Kwazulu Natal in South Africa and Breast Cancer Care, here in the UK.

By providing access to literacy, education and libraries full of books to inspire them, our hope is that children (in some of the most destitute of situations) will dream beyond their geographic and cultural limitations, and aspire toward success, to fulfill their real potential in life. By attending this event, you would have joined us to ‘alleviate poverty through literacy’, as this gives the children the opportunity to lift themselves out of poverty through reading. Thank U!

For a rousing Tribute to All Mothers, we invite you, your family and friends, to the Mother’s Day Gala Events, on Saturday, 5th March 2016. This momentous occasion proudly confers our gratitude and appreciation on all the Phenomenal Women and mother figures in our lives – a big Thank U to all our Mothers!
