Salim Salam, the producer of ‘Last of the Medicine Men’ approached Keith Waithe and Michael Ormiston to compose the original music for the series, having previously entered the world of shamanism whilst composing the music for Benedict Allen’s travels in Mongolia, ‘Edge of Blue Heaven’ on BBC2.

‘Last of the Medicine Men’ involved Benedict travelling to four different countries and cultures, namely the Tuvans of South Siberia, The Huitchol of Mexico, The Haitians of the Caribbean and the Kerai of Siberut, Island of Sumatra in Indonesia.
